Saturday, 8/5 Shooting Right Hand Drive – Day 3

Today was a good day. There still seem to be some management problems with bringing all the crew together working as a team. The main issue seems to be that preparation for a shot seems to be serialized when much could be serialized. It seems like all the professionals understand this and they will be taking steps to address the issue this coming week.

We shot a wonderful scene today of Evan teaching Ashley to talk “British” and Ashley teaching Evan to talk “American”, in my opinion the best scene so far.

As I was watching one of the rehearsals today I was watching Mark Kalbskopf (the director, my friend, and the reason I am even here) and I was struck by a number of things. 1) Mark really is good with working with actors to get what he wants from them. 2) He is very natural and relaxed doing this directing thing. 3) He is very happy doing this despite the pressures and stress.

We did 5 pages today, the most so far. Here is today’s graph.

The good news is that tomorrow is a (welcome) day off. The additional good news is that we are slightly ahead of the daily avererage we need to accomplish to complete in four weeks. The bad news is of course that tomorrow is a day off and day off so we won’t make any progress tomorrow.
